Big B first informed of the crisis through the micro-blogging site, twitter and later texted further details of the crisis that took place near the St. James Court Hotel in London. As per Big B's text messages the entire hotel was evacuated promising to be under control soon.

Big B first informed of the crisis through the micro-blogging site, twitter and later texted further details of the crisis that took place near the St. James Court Hotel in London. As per Big B's text messages the entire hotel was evacuated promising to be under control soon. The actor also specified that there was no terror threat and the emergency was caused because of the rains and the danger of an electric generator blowing up next door which could have led to the falling of the heavy cranes on the St. James Court hotel and crushing the entire building. Big B also said that his room was the closest to the danger spot. He also later texted that things were under control and that he was safe. The 68 year old actor had left for Europe from Mumbai for work in the wee hours of the morning on 15th January 2011.
