The list remains the same as last week for there havent been any major releases. With Pongal getting couple of big tickets Kaavalan, Siruthai and Aadukalam on the racing grids along with 4 medium budget movies, we can expect major changes in the positions.
1. Manmadhan Ambu: Most of the theatres are running empty as it had enough audiences for the Christmas holidays. But when compared to other movies in box office, this has been doing a good business. Manmadhan Ambu spanned good collections in multiplexes when compared to single screens. Perhaps, this could be the last week that the film can hold this position as there will be a heavy competition between 3 big tickets on release.
2. Mynaa: The film creates a revolution in K-town aspiring filmmakers that a good script and best characterizations will win laurels irrespective of star-values and brands of technical superstars.
3. Easan: Sasikumars Easan had a slow pick up and later made it to a good position with commendable promotional campaigns. The filmmaker-producer is elated with the down south districts perception of this movie.
4! . Rattha Sarithiram: Released during the first week of December, the film didnt exceed the expectations of audiences. But now, with the assassination of Maddelacheruvu Suri, the main inspiration for Suriyas character, it regained some momentum as it added some extra promotions.
5. Aattanayagan: Sakthis career graph wasnt really up to the mark as his romantic roles didnt gain him more appreciation. But this time with an action packed commercial entertainer, he has grabbed everyones attention. He proves himself to be an action hero as well.
6. Siddhu +2, First Attempt: K. Bhagyarajs usage of double entendres seems to have been the main key of attraction across the suburb areas. The results are more favorable in villages and town when compared to the city audiences, Santhanoo has tried leashing his potentials in dance and action sequences.
7. Enthiran: Having completed 100 days, its time for gaining rewards through awards now. The Hindi version has bagged couple of Apsara awards for the category of Best Modern Technology and Special Effects.
The other three positions of the film are unoccupied by any films as most of the theatres have been blocked for upcoming releases.
