Ash: No tantrums

Brushing aside stories that appeared in the media that actress Aishwarya Rai threw tantrums while in Singapore for an award function, she said that she was really unwell during the award night and never threw any tantrums. Aishwarya issued a clarification statement mentioning that though she was really unwell, she went to Singapore for the award night in advance and she never even mentioned a change or suggested otherwise than what was planned by the organizers, putting the award first and her personal comfort later. She went for her rehearsal late at night when all had finished with their respective rehearsals. At the rehearsal she insisted with the choreographer to send back the dance troupe as they had been rehearsing all day and used the services of two of the choreographer's assistants to do a run through and basically saw her whole act performed by them.
Priyadarshan, team in Abu Dhabi
Filmmaker Priyadarshan is in the capital of UAE to shoot his next film, a Malayalam comedy starring Mohanlal. The film will be completely shot in Abu Dhabi. The national award winning director who has 81 movies under his belt, said that the film, a UAE-India joint venture, will depict the beauty and grandeur of the Emirate`s landscape and culture. The director told the Emirates News Agency that Abu Dhabi is untouched by the global film industry and that he wants to show the world its magnificence and richness. The film is titled `The Arabian, the Camel and Madhavan Nair` and stars Mohanlal, Laxmi Rai and Bhavana. The film is being produced by Ashok Kumar, Jamal Al Nuaimi and Naveen Shashidharan under the banner Jancos Entertainment.
Rahman bags crystal award

Music maest! ro A. R. Rahman was honored with the Crystal Award at the World Economic Forum a day after he was nominated for two original scores for the academy awards. Rahman received the award at the opening ceremony of the Forum's annual meet in Davos, attended by 2500 global leaders from business, government, art, culture and religion. The 44 year old musician was sporting an embroidered black kurta when he received the award which is given annually by the World Economic Forum to outstanding artistes who use their talent for social and charitable work. While the forum recognised Rahman for his music in 'Slumdog Millionaire' and 'Bombay Dreams', it took note of his work in the field of child welfare. Rahman said that he gets "motivation" from the social work he does. The award function was attended by several heads of governments, including Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, top CEOs, religious leaders and academicians.

Breaking nephew and young actor Imran Khan's heart Aamir said the ultimate. Aamir said actor Ranbir Kapoor is a better actor. In an interview to a private tv channel when asked who is better actor - Ranbir or Imran, he promptly said that he loves Imran, but Ranbir is a better actor. But as candid as Mamu is we have seen so far that Ranbir too is a cool dude and doesn't take things to heart. But Aamir had also said in the past that Imran is a lambi race ka ghoda. So there you go Imran!
